The Benefits Enrollment Field Guide

Code for America published a detailed survey of online public benefits enrollment applications across all 50 U.S. states. I was hired to create data visualizations of their survey results from 2022. The primary audience for the site includes state benefits program administrators, journalists, and advocates. We aimed for a visualization that was concise, readable, and clear. The visualization builds off of a 2019 version created by Kerry Roden. Colors were chosen to balance visual contrast and readability with Code for America’s style guide.
