DUSP Explorer

The Department of Urban Studies and Planning (DUSP) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology created DUSP Explorer for prospective students to explore research projects and interests of faculty. I was hired to design and implement a website for DUSP Explorer. Interactive visualizations included chord diagrams of shared research and projects between faculty and a globe that rotated to highlight research projects outside of the United States.

Technical summary

For DUSP Explorer, I created a Django web application with an admin interface that allowed DUSP faculty and staff to update and edit project information. Data from the web application was serialized into JSON format and visualizations were created in Javascript using D3.
